Driving Test At Ubi For The 3rd Time

Writing this 1 day before my actual driving test.

Today I had 2 revision lesson and I feel slightly more confident even tho I still make mistakes.

1st driving instructor was great. He wasn’t the conventional serious uncle. His name is Sky. He was patient and also he shared a lot of technics. Most importantly he always smile, so that boost my confidence a little.

2nd driving instructor was Edmund. He was the chill uncle, really patient and always praising you when things are done right. Words of encouragement may not be my love language but I know words of discouragement is DEFINITELY gonna bring me down.

I know it is not easy to pass driving test for everyone (some of us just lack experience and luck). Sometimes it takes practice, confidence, weather, people and the universe to align in order to pass. Don’t say don’t need because when we are at our 2nd or 3rd tries. Even the colour of my underwear matters (just kidding).

I believe I will pass tmr. Writing this after both my revision lessons. I may have picked the slot that people would want to avoid 8:25am but I believe in myself and that’s most important (believe in and confidence in driving are 2 different things).

I will be attempting my 3rd driving test tmr and I hope all the stars align and work in my favour. I’ve seen enough of CDC, I hope we all part on a good note.

Woke up at 6:20am, got my baby’s backpack ready and came for driving test. Ate 1 piece of bread and decided that was it.

Was the only female driver today for my slot but I was feeling alright. Already sleep deprived for 2 consecutive days because baby wasn’t sleeping well … and I got the if I fail I fail kind of mindset.

During warmup, not too bad, I got a nice instructor too, gave me some tips. Smiley as well.

Shortly after I was called by the TP. I walked past my car and never realised then that was when I panic… but you know what? I also tell myself aiya.. if can pass we pass if cannot at least I was happy the past 2 days.

Went through the whole circuit and main road, back at CDC 2nd floor, got my results.

I pass my driving test, I wish everyone who’s learning driving or intending to learn driving all the best 🫶🏼💕

Also, 8:25am slot is not that bad.

... Read moreTaking your driving test multiple times can be a rollercoaster of emotions, and my experience at Ubi on the third try truly reflected that. One key takeaway I gained is that each lesson with different instructors can offer unique insights — for example, my instructors Sky and Edmund not only taught me technical skills but also boosted my morale with patience and encouragement. This combination of practical advice and emotional support can make a significant difference in building driving confidence. I found that revision lessons right before the test helped me iron out mistakes and solidify my driving techniques. It’s easy to forget mirror checks and signaling properly under test pressure, but reviewing these consistently with your instructor reduces risky errors like those listed for the Eunos Link exit or airport road in the test feedback. Practice, coupled with focused guidance, can correct habits that might cause deduction points. Interestingly, mindset played a huge role in my success. Although confidence and belief in oneself are often used interchangeably, I noticed that I had to consciously separate them. Believing I could pass was essential, but actual confidence in my driving skills came from preparation and experience. It’s important to enter the test with a calm and positive outlook, even when you know mistakes might happen — this keeps nerves in check and allows you to perform better. Also, don’t underestimate small details. Whether or not the test slot is early morning or the so-called unlucky timeslot of 8:25am, what really matters is how you approach the test mentally and physically. Getting enough rest before your test, eating light but sufficient food, and arriving prepared with your belongings minimize additional stressors. For anyone struggling after several attempts, I want to say perseverance is key. Passing a driving test often depends on a mix of practice, dealing with unpredictable factors like weather and timing, and yes, a bit of luck. But more importantly, celebrating progress and learning from each try will eventually get you that pass. Finally, sharing experiences like mine helps demystify the process and encourages learner drivers not to be discouraged by setbacks. Trust the process, value good instructors, and keep trying — the reward of holding that driving license is absolutely worth it.

Driving instructors you should AVOID
Today is a happy day because I passed my TP test! 🥳 Although it took me two tries, I felt significantly less stress for the second time since I knew what to expect. The main motivation for me to pass it once and for all is because I am tired of camping for classes and meeting driving instructor
