The constant battle between price and quality

Sofa was 1 thing I refused to compromise on. It’s like a mattress to me, I have to try it out for myself. It’s been a few months since we got it, and I have 0 regrets 😂

Ngl, the experience of walking into King Living was very different compared to some other furniture stores who just felt like a high grade Taobao with a 5x mark up 🫨

I’m not saying that you can’t get a good bang for buck, but from the countless stores that we visited, it’s clear that a lot of them get their stock from China. You can search the exact same sofa from Taobao, except this time you can try it out yourself. But we were being picky, that’s for sure. We wanted a sofa that was soft but supported, and doesn’t creak the moment we sat down.

A lot of “taobao” sofas are hard or way too soft, so if you’re into that, yay! You can save a ton by buying from Taobao.

Good luck friends, it took us months to find the perfect one. But we’re not delusional, $4k is a lot to spend, it’s not bang for buck, but the quality speaks for itself.

... Read moreChoosing the perfect sofa can feel overwhelming, especially when balancing price and quality. From my own journey, I found that King Living’s Jasper sofa stands out because it offers both comfort and durability—something that cheaper knockoffs often miss. If you're in Singapore or Malaysia, you’ll find that many stores sell sofas sourced from China, often resembling Taobao products but at inflated prices. These sofas can either be too soft or too hard, lacking the right support. For me, trying the sofa in person was crucial; sitting on it ensured it matched my comfort needs. Besides comfort, the build quality mattered a lot. I wanted a sofa that wouldn’t creak or fall apart after a few months. While the $4,000 investment is significant, it’s not just about saving money but about long-term satisfaction with your furniture. If you’re on the fence, consider testing the Jasper sofa yourself in King Living stores to experience its unique blend of softness and firmness. Also, explore King Living’s reputation in Singapore, as their commitment to quality could save you time and money in the long run. Ultimately, investing in a sofa that fits your comfort preferences and lasts years is worth prioritizing over cheaper alternatives that compromise on quality and design.
