I’ve been on the hunt for a cheongsam for tea ceremony because I don’t feel like paying >$700 for a dress that I’ll only wear for one hour max. Thankfully, I found Chambre that specialises in Cheongsam rental.
Currently, they are having a promo where you can rent 2 gowns for $588 if you book an appointment before 4 Nov. We can rent together if you are keen HAHAHAAH. Otherwise, they offer 20% discount if you confirm with them within 24 hours. So the dresses are all between $300 - $400 after discount!! Which is definitely more affordable than the cheongsams from typical gown boutiques.
I made an appointment through ig dm and they were able to slot me in for same day appointment :) (was in a rush due to the promo) Something I didn’t like is that they do not have any catalog available, and they also shared that several dresses were out for rent. As others have mentioned, the price is not very transparent as well.
I quite like Celeste (more modest) but my sisters and friends commented that Matilda & Livia looks nicer.. I agree that they look nicer in photos 🤣🤣
so I’m kinda torn at this point.. please help me!!!
... Read moreIf you're considering renting a cheongsam for a tea ceremony, I highly recommend exploring local rental services like Chambre. From personal experience, their promo deals significantly reduce costs compared to buying a new gown, which often costs upwards of $700. When I booked through Instagram DM, I appreciated the flexibility of same-day appointments, though I did find the lack of an accessible catalog a bit inconvenient. It’s helpful to prepare by asking for photos or samples if possible before your visit.
In terms of styles, the modesty level and overall look are important depending on your preference and the ceremony's tone. For example, I liked Celeste for its subtle elegance, but my friends leaned towards Matilda and Livia because they photograph beautifully. Remember to factor in your comfort and how long you'll be wearing the dress since the ceremony is usually short but requires you to feel confident.
Also, keep an eye on limited-time offers or discounts—Chambre’s 20% discount for quick confirmers was a great incentive. When renting, clarify rental terms and check for any hidden fees, as pricing transparency can vary between rental shops. Lastly, coordinate with friends if you want to share a rental booking, as it can save money and add to the fun!
Overall, renting a cheongsam can be a stress-free and budget-friendly option for your tea ceremony. Planning ahead and communicating with the rental shop will ensure you find a beautiful gown that fits both your style and budget.
