Sometimes many people think that nature and humans must be separated for the forest to recover or for people to survive, but in fact, the two things can coexist from where I had the opportunity to touch a community far from downtown Chiang Mai, Huai Khun.

There is a small village where people live a simple life in the middle of a green forest. There is not only the sound of birds singing and the morning mist, but also coffee planted under a large shade, where people try to build a forest, and sometimes a big elephant walks through the village.

From talking to the villagers, they understood that the forest is not the enemy of people, but the home and habitat of people and animals that can co-exist dependently. The villagers take care of the forest. The forest has water as a source of food and resources in the community. They said that the forest is what we need to take care of together. From poaching monoculture in many areas, which is understandable, they have no options, but there is another group of people who try to save the forest from the choice of growing coffee under the shade, because where there is coffee there is a forest, they also produce.

Along with the care of the forest, the coffee is beautiful in taste and meaning, because every glass is the treatment of the forest, and every tree is the hope of the people on the doi.

Elephants are part of the forest, too. Their walking area is not blocked, but designed to be safe for elephants and people to create opportunities for people in the community to earn money from conservation tourism. Instead of conflict, every life lives in its own place without anyone losing.

It's not a matter of choice, it's a matter of coexistence.

Wild people, coffee and elephants can live together, because natural healing does not mean that we have to disappear, but that we can live without making anyone disappear.
