My review: I love the off campus series but this book wasn’t it the legacy is a compilation of short stories of the couples after college logan and grace story is an elopement and we didn’t even see them elope they were stuck in the car the whole time dean and ali were a proposal and I just didn’t care for it sabrina and tucker story is called a wedding but there book was a honeymoon and was honestly probably the best story out of all of them hannah and garrets was pregnancy and I wanted more out of it it could have easily been my favorite it if it had just a little bit more all in all if the reading the off campus series you don’t need to read this one your not missing anything
As a massive fan of Elle Kennedy's 'Off-Campus' series, diving into 'The Legacy' felt like coming home to old friends. I was so eager to see what Logan and Grace, Dean and Allie, Sabrina and Tucker, and Hannah and Garrett were up to after college. The idea of getting more glimpses into their lives through these short stories was incredibly exciting! When I picked up 'The Legacy,' the book cover, with its familiar 'Off-Campus' series aesthetic and a person in a subtle purple sweater, instantly made me nostalgic. It promised more of that New Adult sports romance charm I loved. However, my reading experience turned out to be a bit of a mixed bag, and I'm here to share my unfiltered thoughts on what happens in 'The Legacy' by Elle Kennedy. First, let's talk about Logan and Grace. Their story was supposed to be an elopement, which sounds incredibly romantic, right? But I felt like we spent most of the time with them stuck in a car. While their banter was there, the 'big moment' felt side-stepped, leaving me wanting more of the actual elopement experience. It just didn't quite deliver on the emotional payoff I was hoping for. Then there were Dean and Allie, whose segment focused on a proposal. I'll be honest, I just didn't connect with it as much as I'd hoped. Their dynamic is usually electric, but this particular snippet didn't quite capture their usual spark for me. It felt a bit rushed, and I longed for the depth we see in their full-length novel. Sabrina and Tucker's story, titled 'A Wedding,' surprisingly felt more like a honeymoon, and I have to say, it was probably the strongest of the bunch. It had a sweet, intimate feel that really resonated. It was the one story where I felt fully immersed and satisfied with the progression of their relationship. If you're looking for a highlight, this one comes closest to the magic of the original series. Hannah and Garrett's segment revolved around pregnancy, and this one had so much potential! I wanted more, so much more, from it. It could have easily been my favorite if it had just a little bit more substance and exploration of their journey into parenthood. It felt like a tease rather than a fulfilling chapter. It definitely left me wishing for an entire novel dedicated to their next big step. Regarding 'the legacy elle kennedy tropes,' I usually adore the way Elle Kennedy handles sports romance, college settings, and the development of her characters. In 'The Legacy,' some of those familiar tropes are present – the continuation of established relationships, moments of emotional vulnerability, and witty dialogue. However, because these are short stories, they don't allow for the same deep dive into character growth or the slow burn that makes her full novels so compelling. It's more like checking in briefly rather than experiencing a new chapter fully. For those wondering how 'The Legacy' connects to 'Off Campus the deal' and the rest of the series, it truly functions as an extended epilogue for the beloved couples. It provides a quick peek into their futures, answering some 'what if' questions but without the detailed storytelling we've come to expect. While it's nice to see them, it's not essential reading if you're looking for major plot developments or character arcs. Overall, while 'The Legacy' offers a chance to revisit these beloved characters, it might not be the most essential read for every 'Off-Campus' fan. If you're a completist who needs every single glimpse into their lives, go for it. But if you're looking for the same depth and excitement as the original books, you might find yourself, like me, feeling that it wasn't quite it.
