“The trauma made you stronger”

I believe this statement is false. The trauma gave me anxiety, it made me hate life, it tore me apart, it gave me trust issues, it broke me. It will always be there, never forgotten, but it’ll get easier. You start to heal. That doesn’t mean you get stronger.

... Read moreThe statement "The trauma made you stronger" is often debated as many survivors feel differently. Trauma can lead to anxiety, relationship issues, and a distorted view of life. Recognizing trauma as part of one's story is crucial for healing. This process involves emotional work, seeking support, and embracing vulnerability. Healing is not linear; it encompasses setbacks and breakthroughs. Engaging with communities, such as those symbolized by hashtags like #safespace and #letschat, can provide additional support and understanding for those navigating these challenges. The journey of healing necessitates patience and empathy towards oneself, acknowledging that strength can sometimes be found in moments of fragility.

Healing childhood trauma is possible 🧸

Traumatic intelligence isn’t a formal clinical term, but people use it to describe something very real: the kind of awareness and “street-smart” intuition that develops after living through stress, chaos, or trauma. It’s not the trauma itself that’s valuable, it’s the way your mind adapts to sur
