I can’t keep pretending

Lately, I’ve been realizing just how much my burnout is taking a toll on my body, especially my tummy. For the longest time, I thought my stomach problems were just random the constant bloating, the nausea, the sudden cramps that came out of nowhere. But the more I paid attention, the more I saw the pattern the worse my stress and exhaustion got, the worse my stomach felt. I’d wake up already tense, rush through my day with no real breaks, and then wonder why I could barely eat without feeling sick.

I finally made the connection when I hit a breaking point. I went to the doctor convinced there was something seriously wrong with my gut, only to find out all my tests came back normal. Then it hit me.. The nonstop work, the lack of rest, the pressure I put on myself every single day it was all piling up and showing up in my stomach. It was like my digestive system was carrying the weight of the burnout I refused to acknowledge.

This experience has taught me that my body will always tell me what I need to hear. I can’t keep pretending I’m fine when I’m not. I owe it to myself to slow down, listen, and make changes before my health suffers even more.

At the end of the day, I want to feel good in my body again to eat without pain, to wake up without knots in my stomach. I know it won’t happen overnight, but I’m ready to do the work to heal my burnout so my body can finally feel safe and healthy again.
