NYX finally dropped the blush alternative to the Buttermelt bronzer which as we know (or dont know) is my current favorite bronzer!!
I immediately ran to check out when I got the alert that these had launched!!
I bought 4 shades bc I couldnt decide
🎨Item: Buttermelt Blush
🛍Brand: NYX Cosmetics
💰Price: $10
🚨CAUTION: they are darker in person and theyre PIGMENTED so when choosing your shades, be wary
The Buttermelt Bronzer has a soft almost coconut scent. The blushes have a fruity scent to them but it almost smells chemical ? Its not bad but its a little different.
The shades I got are:
You Know Butta (coral with golden shimmer)
For The Butta (Soft Midtone Pink)
Feeling Butta ( Warm Terracotta with shimmer)
All The Butta ( Electric Fuchsia)

They DID launch a brush with this line as they did with the Bronzer however it is sold separately.

Are you going to grab any shades from this launch?
... Read moreThe excitement around the NYX Buttermelt Blush launch was palpable, and after getting my hands on four stunning shades, I can totally see why! Beyond the initial rush, I wanted to dive deeper into what makes these blushes a potential new staple in your makeup bag, especially considering how many of you are searching for detailed insights, swatches, and reviews.
Let's talk shades and the visual magic they bring. The unique "textured, cracked-earth pattern" and "subtle shimmer" within the compacts, as noted by the OCR, are even more captivating in person. This isn't just for aesthetics; I find that this specific texture helps the brush pick up product evenly, preventing a patchy application. My coral shade, "You Know Butta," has a gorgeous golden shimmer that doesn't scream glitter but rather provides a radiant, healthy glow. "For The Butta," a soft mid-tone pink, is surprisingly versatile, giving that perfect 'just pinched' look. Then there's "Feeling Butta," the warm terracotta with a more pronounced shimmer that's absolutely stunning for a sun-kissed vibe, especially with its beautiful cracked-earth pattern. And finally, "All The Butta," the electric fuchsia, which is a true showstopper. What impressed me most is how each of these shades—whether coral, soft pink, warm terracotta, or electric fuchsia—translates onto the skin: vibrant, yet incredibly blendable.
One of the biggest takeaways from my initial try is the pigmentation. Seriously, a little goes a long way! If you're used to blushes you have to build up, proceed with caution here. My personal tip for applying these highly pigmented blushes is to tap your brush lightly into the pan, then tap off any excess on the back of your hand or a tissue before applying it to your cheeks. This allows for a more controlled application and prevents you from looking like a clown! I've found that using a soft, fluffy brush helps to diffuse the color beautifully, ensuring a seamless blend. Even though NYX launched a dedicated brush, any good quality fluffy blush brush will do the trick. You can always build up the color gradually if you want more intensity. For those of you wondering about "butta together swatches" or how they blend, I've had fun mixing "You Know Butta" with "For The Butta" for a custom peachy-pink pop, proving these shades can definitely play well together for a unique look.
Beyond the initial application, wear-time is crucial for any blush. I’ve put these Buttermelt Blushes through a full day, from morning coffee to evening errands, and I'm genuinely impressed. They held up remarkably well without fading or becoming patchy. Even on warmer days, they stayed put, maintaining their vibrancy. They didn't settle into fine lines or emphasize texture, which is a huge bonus. If you're looking for a long-lasting drugstore option, these are definitely contenders.
Now, about the scent. The original content mentioned a "fruity scent" that almost smells "chemical." I agree with that assessment. It's not an overpowering fragrance, and it dissipates quickly after application, so it hasn't been an issue for me. But if you're particularly sensitive to scents in makeup, it's something to be aware of. It's subtle enough that it wouldn't deter me from using them, but it's not a luxurious, rose-petal kind of scent.
Considering the $10 price point, these blushes are a fantastic deal. You get intense pigmentation, a beautiful range of shades, and impressive longevity, all for a budget-friendly price. They offer a high-end feel without the high-end cost, making them perfect for anyone looking to add some vibrant color to their routine without breaking the bank. Whether you're a blush enthusiast or just dipping your toes into colorful cheek products, the NYX Buttermelt Blushes are definitely worth checking out for their quality and performance.
I want to try these so bad. Not at Target yet 😭
