Seriously, don't try to jump into a 20-hour fast if you've never done it before. I made that mistake early on, and trust me, it's not pretty! Start with a shorter window, like 12 hours overnight, and gradually extend it as your body adapts. Remember to always know your limits and listen to your body. If you feel unwell, break your fast gently. This isn't about suffering; it's about sustainable change. One of the biggest game-changers for me was understanding the power of hydration. You know how I said water is your best friend now? I really mean it! Staying properly hydrated is absolutely key, especially when you're aiming for water fasting correctly or just extending your fasting window. I found that sipping on plain water, unsweetened black coffee, or herbal teas really helped curb those mid-fast cravings. Sometimes, what you think is hunger is actually just thirst! I even started adding a pinch of Himalayan pink salt to my water for electrolytes, which made a huge difference in managing fatigue during longer fasts. It truly is the number one thing that helped me with my cravings. Now, let's talk about how to burn fat while fasting. The beauty of fasting is that it naturally shifts your body into a fat-burning state once your glycogen stores are depleted.
