The beginning.
🌄𝗜𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴… 𝗛𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲.
𝖦𝖾𝗇𝖾𝗌𝗂𝗌 1:1–3
I was about 8 years old when my mom gave
me a quiet assignment:
Learn the first three verses of Genesis.
I don’t remember what I did to deserve it—
probably something sassy or stubborn—but this “consequence” turned out to be a hidden gift.
I memorized those verses line by line, not
knowing they’d settle so deeply in my spirit
that I’d still carry them today.
They became part of me.
A seed sown early… that still bears fruit.
Back then, I didn’t understand what they
really meant.
But this morning, with WV-made honey in my coffee, sun warming our wrap-around deck,
Al by my side, and our pups curled up on a
nearby chair, those familiar words came
flooding back.
✨ ”𝙄𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝙂𝙤𝙙 𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙨
𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙝…”
The blue sky above me, the birds in chorus, the mountains stretching out in every direction—He made all of this.
And somehow, He made me, too.
When I began walking with the Lord at 24,
I found so much comfort in the New
Testament. The Old Testament felt too big,
too complicated… too much.
But now?
I’m ready.
I feel invited to come back to where it all began.
To trace His fingerprints in the beginning of everything.
So this week, I’m starting in Genesis.
Slowly.
Prayerfully.
With eyes and heart wide open.
And if you’re curious too—if something inside
you stirs at the thought of rediscovering God’s beginning—come with me.
I’ll be here every day. ت
Because the more I read, the more I realize:
God didn’t just create the world.
He created me—with intention.
With identity.
With purpose.
With love.
I think of that moment in The Chosen, when Matthew turns to Gaius and says,
“I have one thing to do today… follow Him.”
That’s where I am, too.
That’s enough.
And you know what’s amazing?
Last night, after a hard rain met with sunshine,
the most breathtaking rainbow appeared over
our mountain — and I just stood there, eyes
wide, heart full, soaking in every bit of its glory.
But I didn’t post the rainbow. 🌧️ + ☀️ = 🌈
I waited.
I felt like something deeper was coming.
And this morning? Here it is.
He met me in the waiting.
The rainbow wasn’t a missed post —
it was a prelude.
A holy setup for the very Word that
would come alive in my heart today.
And when I saw it stretch across the sky
after the sudden burst of sun and rain…
I felt it again.
His reminder:
“I’ve loved you since the very beginning.
My beginning.”
