🌊 𝑩𝒆𝒄𝒂𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝑺𝒂𝒚 𝑺𝒐 🌊
There are moments when I’ve stood on the shore of disappointment — weary, discouraged, washing my empty nets. Times when I whispered, “𝑊ℎ𝑎𝑡'𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑢𝑠𝑒 𝑜𝑓 𝑡𝑟𝑦𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑎𝑔𝑎𝑖𝑛?"
Peter must have felt the same. After fishing all night with nothing to show for it, Jesus asked him to do the unthinkable: “𝘗𝘶𝘵 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘦𝘦𝘱 𝘸𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘭𝘦𝘵 𝘥𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘯𝘦𝘵𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢 𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘤𝘩."
Logic said, 𝚆𝚑𝚢 𝚋𝚘𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛?
Weariness said, 𝕀'𝕞 𝕕𝕠𝕟𝕖.
But faith whispered, 𝐼𝑓 𝑌𝑜𝑢 𝑠𝑎𝑦 𝑠𝑜, 𝐿𝑜𝑟𝑑…
And that one act of obedience turned into nets breaking with blessing. 🐟🐠
I’ve been there.
Maybe you have too.
Where hope seems gone, yet God asks you
to try again.
To trust His voice above your reasoning.
To keep casting where you once came up empty.
It’s rarely about the catch — it’s about the obedience. It’s about learning to say with
trembling but willing faith:
🕊️ “𝐵𝑒𝑐𝑎𝑢𝑠𝑒 𝑌𝑜𝑢 𝑠𝑎𝑦 𝑠𝑜, 𝐿𝑜𝑟𝑑, 𝐼 𝑤𝑖𝑙𝑙 𝑡𝑟𝑦 𝑎𝑔𝑎𝑖𝑛."
And sometimes — in that very place of past disappointment — He meets us with more than we ever imagined.
Has He ever asked you to keep going in something you’d already lost hope for? 🛶
✨ Prayer:
Lord, when I’m weary and tempted to give up, remind me that Your ways are higher than mine. Teach me to obey even when it doesn’t make sense, to trust even when I can’t see the outcome, and to keep casting when I’d rather retreat to shore. Because You say so… I will try again.
Amen.
