My Audiobook Reads so far this month
I wanted to take a break from my Book Banning Talk, mainly because I am working on a full on Video essay for YouTube. Don't worry I'll post about what that process looks like later. So here is my current Audiobooks.
🎧 Not Pictured is First Witch of Boston by Andrea Catalona. This book took me a while to stay interested. But I'm glad I got interested after a while.
If you haven't heard of this book it's a Historical Fiction that uses real diary entries from a woman who was killed for being a witch. Most of the book is told by her husband while he reads her diary and reflects on their life together in Boston. The last few chapters are told from her perspective and they are the most heartbreaking chapters in the entire book. I recommend it just be prepared to wait for it to get good. 3.5/5
🎧 The last one I finished was You Shouldn't Have Come Here by Jeneva Rose. I love a good thriller and this was interesting until I guessed the ending. I don't know if it was a me problem or something.
It starts off with our main character Grace checking into her AirBnB for her trip to Wyoming. While she is there she and her host have a romantic connection. But the entire time she's there she feels haunted by his ex girlfriend and his past. 2.5/5 it's not the worst but I doubt I will reread it any time soon.
🎧 My Current listen is The Fourth Daughter by Lyn Liao Butler which so far I am loving. I'm about 1/3 of the way through and it's so interesting.
It's about a Grandmother looking for her daughter who her Husband gave away because he viewed her as bad luck in 1960's Taiwan. The story is told by a granddaughter in the modern time while she is recovering mentally from a traumatic experience. She goes to visit her Grandmother to try and help her. The other part of the story is told by the Grandmother telling us about her life when she lost her fourth daughter. We see how much effort she has put into looking for her daughter during the years after she went missing. We also learn more about her life in general and her struggles. It's very interesting.
🎧 My next audio read, as of this second, is Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez. I have been on this Libby waitlist since May 9 and I just got the available soon notification. If I don't get it super soon I will be either starting the "Scared (word I'm afraid will make this ineligible)" series that a bunch of authors did or The Deal by Elle Kennedy. It really just depends on timing.
🪿Once again I mainly listen to audiobooks while working and gaming. This batch has been getting me through the Star Stable tutorial which my friend has been bullying me to start playing and some Roblox tycoons. As I write this post I'm dead in my Dungeon and Dragons game and debating if I want to start listening again because I won't be brought back for a while.
Anyway I'll be posting more this week hopefully.

Then there was times like this where the same word was repeated multiple times in just a couple paragraphs which is one of my biggest pet peeves
