April Reads 📖

16. Wild Side by Elsie Silver

A reread but my lord I just love Rhys Dupree! Are you kidding?! This one is just….*chefs kiss*. And those last few chapters???!!!!! Talk about a roller coaster of emotions.

17. Reckless by Elsie Silver

Another reread. But let me I tell you, I usually hate a pregnancy trope but was fully sat for this book! Theo Silva….the man that you are! I can’t describe how much I adored winter and her storyline. Obsessed. No notes.

18. Lights Out by Navessa Allen

Continuing my month of rereads to feel something. I’ll always love Josh and Aly. The banter, the chaos, the voice actors!!!! Ugghhhh!!! Love love love.

19. Caught Up by Navessa Allen

Navessa Allen knows how to keep a girl coming back. And I did. Again. lol. This reread was so I could refresh before Game on! Love Nico, the psycho and his equally psycho love.

20. Fight by Sloane St. James

Next stop on the tour of rereads.. i still maintain I would have liked a bit more plot but I still enjoyed the story and how Scotty was able to break free and discover who she was. Callahan was great and the voice actor did a great job, but I got annoyed with the miscommunication trope.

21. Protect by Paisley Hope

Still my fave of this series. Second chance love is crazy but I really enjoyed how hard Rowan worked for it. Violette is without a doubt a badass and I loved her character!

22. Honor by Danielle Baker

Still love this one. But it’s definitely lower on my list of faves. But not by much. The single mom of three and firefighter with a heart of pure gold get me every time!

23. Game on by Navessa Allen

Finally a new read! Ok so this was way better than I was expecting. I lllllloooooovveeeedddd Tyler and Stella. Their dynamic and the audiobook authors were incredible. 10/10. My only gripe was the random throuple. I loved the showcasing of a functioning one and the scenes were hit but it felt like an afterthought just thrown in at the end. I think they would have made more sense as a couple who occasionally enjoyed having a third. But this was a great listen. Please give this audiobook some love! The actors were incredible.

24. Bourbon and Lies by Victoria Wilder

Don’t judge me for loving this series and rereading for the millionth time. I’m obsessed with the bourbon boys haha. This audiobook is so great. I’ve adored Samantha Brentmoor since listening to Leather and Lark. The duet narration was amazing and I loved the humor in this book. Perfection.

25. Bourbon and Secrets by Victoria Wilder

You saw this coming. Another reread. Love love LOVE this trilogy! Bourbon boys is just the right amount of romance, thrill, action and drama. Obsessed and adore Lincoln and Faye. Lily and Lark are hilarious and I found the found-family trope so cute.

26. Bourbon and Proof by Victoria Wilder

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again! This series is soooooooo freaking good!!! Please read and reread and reread it. Ahhhhhhhhhhh!!! I didn’t want it to end. It was so GOOD!!!!! I will forever be obsessed with these bourbon boys and now I find out that there’s not only a new series coming but a whole other series I have yet to read! Victoria is taking over my life. The woman knows how to write! I loved this one more than the others! That’s right I said it. Hadley and Ace… *chefs kiss*. Perfection. No notes.

5/3 Edited to

... Read moreAs an avid reader who often revisits favorite books to relive emotions and catch details missed the first time, I completely relate to Gray's April Reads journey. Diving back into Elsie Silver's "Wild Side" alongside her intriguing character Rhys Dupree feels like re-entering a roller coaster of emotions, making rereads so worthwhile. I, too, usually shy away from pregnancy tropes, but "Reckless" by Silver changed my mind with its authentic storytelling and beloved characters like Theo Silva and Winter. Navessa Allen’s works have become a staple in my reading list, especially with the compelling "Lights Out" and "Caught Up." The witty, morally grey male characters and the dynamic banter add an addictive charm, and the audiobooks elevate the experience with fantastic voice actors bringing the chaos and chemistry to life. I share Gray's excitement about "Game On," where the throuple dynamic, while somewhat surprising, highlights the author’s versatility and the rich storytelling that keeps readers hooked. Victoria Wilder’s Bourbon Boys trilogy is another series that keeps me coming back. The blend of romance, thrill, and drama with characters like Samantha Brentmoor, Lincoln, and Faye offers a perfect balance of humor and heartwarming found-family dynamics. The duet narration in the audiobooks adds a delightful layer, making each listen unforgettable. "Bourbon and Proof" especially resonated with me; the chemistry between Hadley and Ace is palpable and worth every moment of immersion. Gray's honest reflections on tropes such as miscommunication in Sloane St. James's "Fight" and the praise for strong female leads like Violette from Paisley Hope's "Protect" remind me how multifaceted contemporary romance can be. These nuanced takes encourage a deeper appreciation of character development and plot execution. Overall, April Reads celebrate beloved series and new stories with a personal, genuine touch. If you enjoy emotionally driven romance with complex characters, witty banter, and impactful audiobooks, this curated list is a treasure trove for your next listen or read. I’d highly recommend exploring these titles alongside Gray’s enthusiastic reviews to enrich your reading adventures.

Another month down and more books added to my goal for the year! I was a little disappointed in Where’s Molly. It was good but wasn’t quit what I was expecting. But overall was still good after reading Haunting Adeline. Wild card was a fun way to round out the Rose Hill Series! Older was
