🫶 Charcuterie board
Creating a beautiful and tasty charcuterie board is one of my favorite ways to entertain friends and family. When I first started, I focused on just piling together some cheeses and meats, but soon realized that variety and presentation really make the difference. I recommend starting with a selection of three to five types of cheese, including a mix of textures like creamy brie, sharp cheddar, and a hard cheese such as parmesan. Pairing these with different cured meats—like prosciutto, salami, and chorizo—adds a wonderful savory balance. To elevate your board, include fresh and dried fruits such as grapes, figs, and apricots, which add sweetness and color. Nuts like almonds or walnuts create crunch, and a few small bowls of honey, mustard, or fig jam contribute delightful flavors. Don’t forget to add a variety of crackers and even some sliced baguette for texture. Arranging all items thoughtfully, with some height variation and color contrast, transforms your board into a stunning centerpiece. Lastly, I find that labeling cheeses and adding small decorative herbs like rosemary sprigs can make the experience more enjoyable and accessible for guests. Playing around with themes, such as Mediterranean or rustic country boards, also makes it fun and personalized.
