glass hobs came out in the 1970s and the best thing I ever used on one was bicarbonate of soda.... when they were a new thing that's all the manufacturers would say you could use.. literally takes off all the hard bits burned on..... just wipe after bicarb with a wet/damp cloth xxxxxx
