Still Worth The Reminisce
When I was younger, I thought nostalgia was weakness.
A refusal to move forward.
A way of getting stuck.
But the older I get, the more I think memory serves a different purpose.
Not to trap us in the past.
To remind us what mattered.
The bike leaning against the fence.
The records we wore thin.
The books that shaped us.
The ideas we inherited.
The world we were lucky enough to witness.
Not everything survives.
Not every relationship.
Not every dream.
Not every version of ourselves.
But some moments remain valuable long after they're gone.
Still worth the reminisce.
A line from my song "The Gist."
