Classic lasagna - Family size 🤌
this is following the NYT cooking recipe for Classic Lasagna, and I opted for adding the meat which was Italian sausage -delicious!!! and my big family approved 💯
I made two batches and I spent so much time shredding what felt like close to 5 lbs of cheese but it's so worth it!!
tip: let your sauce cook on low heat for a long while so it thickens up. mine was a little bit too watery but it still tasted amazing 😍
Overall rating: 9/10: as a Mexican, I would add more heat 🌶️ #lasagnarecipes #nytcooking #familyrecipe #cooking #recipes
Lasagna is a classic dish that has been loved by many families for generations. The key to a great lasagna lies in the balance of its layers, from the rich tomato sauce to the creamy cheese and flavorful meat. When preparing a family size lasagna, consider using a combination of ground beef and Italian sausage for depth of flavor. Shredding your own cheese, like mozzarella, can enhance the creaminess and freshness of the dish. One important tip is to allow your sauce to simmer on low heat for an extended period. This not only intensifies the flavors but also prevents the lasagna from becoming too watery. For a spicy kick, you might want to add red pepper flakes or jalapeños. Be sure to let the lasagna rest after baking; this allows it to set and makes it easier to serve. With layering techniques and cooking tips in mind, your lasagna can go from ordinary to exceptional, pleasing everyone around the dinner table!
