a lil different from last year’s… 🎂

my greatest lesson from the past year is to be selfish. selfish by putting my needs before others. selfish by making time for myself. selfish by protecting my peace and saying no without guilt. 🌟

did i miss anything? ✌️

... Read moreOver the past year, I’ve really come to understand that being 'selfish' isn’t about ignoring others—it’s about honoring your own needs and mental health. I used to feel guilty whenever I said no or took time just for myself, especially when friends or work demanded my attention. But learning to put myself first, even in small ways, has made a huge difference. One thing I realized is the power of protecting my peace actively. That means recognizing when I’m getting tired, overwhelmed, or emotionally drained—just like the phrases I saw about feeling exhausted and needing breaks at a cafe in the OCR captions. Taking breaks, even if it’s just a short walk outside or turning off my phone for a bit, helps me recharge. Also, setting clear boundaries has been key. Saying “no thanks” without overexplaining or feeling like I’m disappointing others protects my energy. This practice helps me avoid burnout and keeps my relationships healthier because I’m more present when I do say “yes.” Making time for myself is another important lesson. Whether it’s reading a book, enjoying some quiet time, or doing things that genuinely bring me joy, self-care routines must be consistent. They’re not indulgences but necessary steps to maintain balance. Looking back on my journey, I can confidently say that embracing this kind of ‘selfishness’ is one of the most valuable gifts I’ve given myself. It’s about self-respect and self-love, which inevitably enhances how we show up for others too. So if you find yourself struggling to prioritize your well-being, remember it’s okay—and essential—to make yourself a priority first.

1.5 year battle with face ezcema/atopic dermatitis

Why I changed from pads to a menstrual disc
Why the change? 👉 As a longtime user of pads for almost 20 years, I was tired of the leaks, chafing and uncomfortable feeling it gave. So when I discovered menstrual discs last year, I was sold — but the high cost (compared to pads/tampons) and the multitude of options stumped me and gave me decis
