How selling on Vinted actually started for me (and what I learned early)

This didn’t start as a plan or a business idea.

My husband was clearing out his wardrobe.

Clothes he didn’t need, didn’t like, or never wore.

We talked about throwing them away or donating them.

I suggested trying Vinted first.

If it didn’t work, we could still donate everything later.

I took photos of the clothes, folded them neatly, and put them into a separate suitcase.

I started by listing the shirts.

One of them sold on the very first day.

There were also a few messages and interest.

The next day, we listed shoes.

The same thing happened.

After that came my shoes, then my clothes — step by step, not all at once.

Later, items from other parts of the apartment followed as well.

Over two months, we sold 120 items.

What surprised me most was how easily it worked at the beginning.

A few things made a real difference:

• I used only my own photos, as required by Vinted

• I focused on clean, clear images with a light background

• I didn’t try to be creative or perfect

• I followed the rules and kept everything simple

I also made mistakes.

At one point, I tried uploading too many items at once.

That didn’t work well.

Later, I realised the algorithm responds better to smaller, regular uploads.

I also learned that timing matters.

When and how much you upload makes a difference.

Now I declutter in stages.

Weekends are for sorting.

Each area comes separately — the kitchen was next last week.

This isn’t about tricks or shortcuts.

It’s about understanding how the platform actually behaves.

I’m documenting the process as it unfolds, based on real experience.#vinted #homelife #fyp
