จากประสบการณ์ส่วนตัวในการรักษาความสัมพันธ์ที่ดีในชีวิตประจำวัน ผมพบว่า 'พื้นที่ส่วนตัว' ไม่เพียงแต่เป็นเรื่องของระยะทางทางกายภาพแต่ยังหมายถึงขอบเขตในการพูดคุยและปฏิสัมพันธ์ด้วย การตั้ง "กำแพงที่มองไม่เห็น" หรือขอบเขตส่วนตัวที่เหมาะสม ทำให้คนรอบข้างรู้สึกปลอดภัยและได้รับความเคารพ ซึ่งจะช่วยให้ความสัมพันธ์นั้นดำเนินไปอย่างราบรื่นและยาวนานกว่าแน่นอน ผมเองมักใช้หลัก "3 ไม่ถาม" ในการสนทนา เช่น หลีกเลี่ยงการถามเรื่องส่วนตัวที่เป็นความลับหรืออาจทำให้รู้สึกอึดอัด ไม่ถามเรื่องเงินเดือน หรืออดีตที่อาจเจ็บปวด อีกทั้งไม่ตัดสินการตัดสินใจของผู้อื่น เพราะสิ่งเหล่านี้ช่วยลดความขัดแย้งและสร้างบรรยากาศการพูดคุยที่ดี นอกจากนี้ การเคารพเวลาทองของผู้อื่นก็สำคัญมาก เวลาที่ต้องการขอความช่วยเหลือ ผมจะถามก่อนเสมอว่า "ตอนนี้สะดวกคุยหรือช่วยหรือไม่" เพราะการถามแบบนี้แสดงให้เห็นถึงความใส่ใจและเคารพในเวลาของเขา ซึ่งมีผลโดยตรงต่อความรู้สึกและความเต็มใจที่จะให้ความช่วยเหลือ สุดท้าย การฝึกฝนเว้นระยะห่างในบทสนทนา และเลือกวิธีฟังอย่างตั้งใจแทนการถามคำถามที่ล้ำเส้นจะช่วยให้การสื่อสารดีขึ้น พร้อมสร้างความสัมพันธ์ที่แน่นแฟ้นและมีสุขภาพจิตดีไปพร้อมกัน
