I've been dreaming about it for a while, and now that I'm actually putting thoughts to paper (or screen!), the first big question that popped into my head was: how do I develop a solid vlog persona? Who am I, really? What are my passions, my quirks, my sense of humor? Am I funny, serious, educational, or a mix? I think it’s important not to try and be someone you’re not. Authenticity shines through. I'm thinking about my daily routines, my unique perspectives on things, and what makes me, well, *me*! Next, I'm trying to define my target audience. Who am I talking to? Are they beginners, experts, fellow enthusiasts? Knowing this helps tailor my language, my topics, and even my video style. If I know who I'm serving, I can speak directly to their needs and interests, making my content more valuable to them. Then there’s the niche and topic areas. While "random thoughts" is a great start, narrowing down specific themes within my broader interests will help me stay focused. What kind of value can I consistently offer? Is it tutorials, reviews, daily life insights, or something else entirely? This also helps in branding and helps viewers know what to expect from my channel. Another big one is figuring out my Unique Selling Proposition (USP). What makes my perspective or approach different from other creators out there? Maybe it's my specific background, my particular style of explanation, or even just my energy. This is what will make people choose to watch my content over someone else's. Finally, I’m thinking about the visuals and overall presentation. This includes everything from the kind of intro/outro I’ll use, to my editing style, and even my background setup. Consistency in these elements reinforces the persona I'm trying to build. It's like my personal brand identity for the vlog! It feels like a lot to consider, but I’m really enjoying the process of developing this persona.
