Most women over 40 that I Coach are not eating enough protein and they don’t even realize it.
Low protein = more cravings, slower metabolism, harder to build muscle, and harder to lose fat.
Here’s how easy it is to hit 130g spread across your day.
Spread across breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a snack — it adds up fast.

From my experience coaching women over 40, one of the biggest challenges I've seen is underestimating how much protein they actually need. Many believe they're eating enough, but once we track their intake, it's clear they fall short, which often leads to increased cravings and slower results in weight management. Integrating protein-rich foods throughout the day is key. For example, starting your morning with a scoop of whey protein or a cup of low-fat cottage cheese provides a solid protein foundation. Lunch can include lean meats like 4oz of turkey breast or fish such as 5oz of salmon, which not only contribute high-quality protein but also offer beneficial omega-3 fatty acids. Don’t forget plant-based options for variety and extra nutrients—1 cup of edamame or half a cup of lentils packs a protein punch too. Snacks like an ounce of almonds can help keep you satisfied between meals. By spreading these foods across your meals and snacks, it’s surprisingly easy to reach and even exceed the 130-gram goal without feeling overwhelmed. Not only does this approach help curb unhealthy cravings, but it also supports a better metabolism and assists in muscle maintenance and fat loss. Consistency is essential. Monitoring your protein intake daily can help you understand your body’s needs and adjust portions accordingly. Remember, the quality of protein and timing throughout the day matter just as much as the quantity. Sharing these tips with other women in your circle can be a great motivator too!
