My client Ms. Sharron is 70 years old.
She’s been training with me a year and a half.

She said strength training changed the quality of her life.
Her arms are stronger, her legs are stronger, and she can stand longer.

It doesn’t matter how old you are. It’s never too late to start building lean muscle.

Muscle gives you more independence, more longevity, and helps you age backwards.

Comment “COACH” if you need help getting started. I’ll reach out and ask a few questions to see if I can help.

... Read moreFrom my experience working with clients like Ms. Sharron, who began strength training at 70, I've seen firsthand just how impactful muscle building can be, regardless of age. Many people assume that after a certain age, their strength will inevitably decline without any chance of improvement. However, this mindset couldn’t be further from the truth. Strength training not only increases muscle mass but also improves bone density, balance, and flexibility, which are all crucial for maintaining independence and preventing falls as we age. For example, Sharron noticed she could stand longer and felt stronger in her arms and legs after consistent training for a year and a half. This kind of progress boosts confidence and makes daily tasks easier, enriching quality of life. Starting slowly and with manageable weights or resistance bands makes strength training approachable and doable at any age. Consistency is key, and even four sessions a week of moderate exercise can produce remarkable improvements. It’s important to listen to your body and work with a coach or trainer to design a program that matches your unique situation. Additionally, building lean muscle helps combat the natural loss of muscle mass that occurs with aging, which directly supports longevity and helps you age backward. Muscle also plays a critical role in metabolism, which affects energy levels and weight management. If you’re considering starting strength training later in life, remember, it’s never too late. The feeling of becoming stronger and more capable can dramatically change your outlook and improve mental well-being as well. As always, consult a healthcare provider before starting any new exercise routine to ensure it’s safe and appropriate for you.
