When I don’t get at least seven to eight hours of restful sleep, I notice stress levels spike and outbreaks become more frequent. To improve my sleep quality, I unplug from screens an hour before bed and dim the lights to create a calming atmosphere. Lighting a candle and brewing a hot cup of herbal tea also helps me unwind. Stretching gently while listening to soothing music prepares my body for rest, and journaling about gratitude and daily wins shifts my mindset away from anxiety. Lowering the bedroom temperature helps me fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer. These routines reduce nervous system dysregulation and cortisol levels, which are critical for my immune system to suppress HSV effectively. By focusing on these habits consistently, I’ve noticed a real improvement—not only fewer outbreaks but also feeling more energized and balanced overall. This healing approach underscores that supplements alone can’t replace the power of quality sleep and nervous system regulation when managing herpes. Making sleep a sacred priority has been my cornerstone to living outbreak free, and I encourage anyone struggling with HSV to try these simple yet powerful techniques.
