Still on my journey to 10 pull-ups at 35.

Last week I did 7.

This week I did 7 again.

And before the pull-up police pull up 🚨 yes… I know the first one didn’t count because I didn’t lock my arms.

It happens.

Honestly, I probably could’ve hit 8 if I didn’t mess up that first rep, but it is what it is.

I’m not rushing this process.

I’m not competing with anyone.

I’m just showing up and getting stronger.

The average woman can’t even do one pull-up, so if you’re on your journey trying to get your first… keep going.

I’m sharing mine to show you what’s possible with consistency.

We’re getting stronger out here 💪🏾

... Read moreTracking progress in exercises like pull-ups is a fantastic way to stay motivated and witness tangible growth over time. I remember starting with barely one pull-up and feeling frustrated because it seemed so difficult. But embracing consistency rather than rushing results makes a huge difference. One thing I’ve learned is that every rep counts—even when form isn’t perfect. Sometimes, like I experienced, the first pull-up of the set didn’t fully lock out. Instead of letting that discourage me, I treated it as part of the process and kept going. Over time, this mindset helped me push past plateaus and increased my confidence. Another insight is to focus on your own journey without comparing yourself to others. The average woman often struggles to do even one pull-up, so each step forward is a big achievement on its own. Celebrate small wins like adding reps or improving form. Remember that strength training is not a competition but a personal growth process. Incorporating complementary exercises such as lat pull-downs, assisted pull-ups, and even core strengthening routines can accelerate progress by building the necessary muscle groups. Also, stretching and rest days are crucial for recovery and avoiding injury. Using hashtags like #WomenWhoLift and #PullUpJourney not only motivates but also connects you with a supportive community. Sharing your story and challenges can inspire others and create accountability. Ultimately, showing up consistently and acknowledging the ups and downs—as in my goal to reach 10 pull-ups by age 35—builds resilience and strength. Whether you’re aiming for one pull-up or ten, the key is perseverance coupled with patience. We’re all getting stronger together on this journey!

Say it with me, it does not matter how much weight you lift if you cannot control it! Taking it slow helps you isolate the muscles you want to work and keeps you from relying on momentum to lift the weight which will allow you to get more out of the exercise. By keeping your movement slow a
