Let’s paint spring 🦋

Spring is soon to come, and you can tell by my latest paintings that I am so excited for it. 🤗

The color palette I have been using changes with my mood which changes with seasons. 🌈

It’s like you like to eat ice creams in summers and drink hot tea in winters.

That’s just how we are wired, in tune and rhythm with nature.

Sharing with you a not so easy art tutorial today because I think you can take on this challenge if you have been following my other tutorials.

🛍️Materials I used:

... Read moreI absolutely love how my mood shifts with the seasons, and right now, I'm totally buzzing with spring energy! Painting is my favorite way to express that, and I've found that spring-themed art is incredibly uplifting. If you've been looking for easy painting ideas for beginners, especially aesthetic ones you see on Pinterest, you're in the right place. Even if the original tutorial mentions it's "not so easy," I'm here to share how you can totally tackle it and make it your own! One of the biggest anxieties for beginners is getting started. But honestly, the beauty of a project like this spring skyscape is how forgiving watercolors (or gouache, which I often use for a more opaque feel!) can be. Don't feel pressured to create a masterpiece on your first try. Think of it as playing with colors and light. The magic often happens when you let the pigments blend naturally, creating those soft, dreamy skies. Starting with a vibrant orange sky, as shown in the steps, immediately sets a warm, inviting mood for your spring scene. To achieve that popular aesthetic look, remember less is often more. Focusing on a simple color palette, like the pastel oranges and greens, makes your painting feel cohesive and calming. When I’m picking colors, I imagine what kind of feeling I want to evoke. For spring, it's all about fresh, bright, and hopeful shades. Don't be afraid to layer different tones of orange for your sky; it adds so much depth and interest. And when it comes to adding elements like green grass or bushes, play with different shades of green to keep it from looking flat. Now, about those details that really make a painting pop! I used to struggle with tiny elements, but a fineliner, especially a black or white one, is a game-changer. It allows you to add delicate touches like an electric pole, tiny flowers in the grass, or even little birds in the sky without needing super steady hands or tiny brushes. These small additions, as the OCR steps highlight, elevate your simple painting into a delightful narrative. And adding white stars to the sky, even in a daytime scene, can give it a whimsical, dreamlike quality. If you're wondering about materials, you don't need to break the bank. A good quality watercolor page (or even thick sketchbook paper), a basic set of watercolors or gouache, and a fineliner are perfect. I often find that focusing on the process and enjoying the sensory experience of painting is more important than having the most expensive supplies. This type of art project is truly accessible, making it one of the best easy things to paint for beginners. So go ahead, grab your supplies, follow these simple steps, and create your own little piece of spring magic!
