We saw fascinating 'snakes' of all sizes, ancient 'tortoises' slowly making their way, and even some elusive 'bobcats' and powerful 'crocodiles' in their natural-like habitats. It really gives you a comprehensive look at the ecosystem of the Everglades. And you absolutely CANNOT miss the airboat tour! For anyone planning a visit, here are a few tips I picked up: Go early in the morning to beat the Florida heat and the midday crowds. Wear comfortable shoes, as you'll be doing a fair bit of walking. Sunscreen and bug spray are non-negotiables – you are in the Everglades, after all! And definitely bring your camera; there are so many photo opportunities, from holding a baby gator to capturing the thrilling airboat ride. Homestead is perfectly situated, making this 'alligator farm' adventure a convenient and unforgettable stop on your South Florida itinerary, especially if you're exploring the wider Everglades area.
