You can hear the church bells ringing joyously as they conclude their services for this glorious day. The doors barge open to release a group of chatty people, saying their goodbyes to one another before they leave to prepare for the big dinner later that evening. Spring is definitely in the air. The sun barely kisses your skin with flame and the sky is a deep royal blue. The birds are singing their melodic songs as they return for the summer ahead. You can hear the laughter of children as they make their way across the front yard dressed in their sunday's best and searching for the hidden eggs upon fresh cut grass.
This was not the case Easter Sunday of March 30, 1975. At 4:00pm James Urban Rupert awoke and loaded a .357 Magnum, two .22 caliber handguns a rifle and never looked back. Murdering all eleven of his family members who had come over for dinner that day at his mother's home. Forever being dubbed as one of the deadliest shootings inside a private residence and always being known as The Easter Massacre.
