You read that right… reading was not my thing. I’m a slow reader, I have a hard time focusing on the story, I have to re-read several times sometimes to get the story.
Last Christmas, I bought myself a book for Christmas. I accidentally gave it to my sister 😂 Go figure. She still has it a year later.
But anywho, I became obsessed with the thought of buying and reading books! As my collection grew I wanted to sit down and read them all at once.
But, I’m a mom with 3 young kids. I reached out on Booktok for some advice on how these moms were reading 10-15 books a month… AUDIOBOOKS!
I can do audiobooks. I got myself some earbuds and I found that that was way more doable for my constantly moving, on the go life I currently have.
I still like to sit and read but I don’t find a lot of time to do that.
My husband and I have been reading The ACOTAR series together all year. He just started school and we are in the final book but there just isn’t time for it in this season of life. It’s been a game changer for our marriage though!

... Read moreOne of the most transformational avenues for modern readers is the rise of audiobooks, especially for busy parents. Many are finding ways to integrate their love for stories into their hectic schedules. Selecting the right audiobooks can open up worlds previously unreachable, enriching one's life even amidst chaos. Audiobooks allow multitasking—enjoying a gripping novel while cooking, cleaning, or even during school runs.
Additionally, the popularity of book-related social media communities, like Booktok, offers insights and recommendations tailored for diverse lifestyles. Forums and platforms allow users to track their progress, share reviews, and connect with fellow enthusiasts. Thus, the reading community is not only supportive but also encouraging, perfect for those just stepping into storytelling. Whether it’s cozying up with a fantasy novel or ruminating over contemporary issues, the possibilities are endless. Prioritizing reading within a busy schedule isn't just feasible; it's a rewarding journey that fosters growth, knowledge, and connection.
For parents, this journey can also involve meaningful family bonding time, like reading together or discussing favorite characters, which can enhance communication and shared interests at home. Finding the right balance of reading formats—paperbacks for cozy nights and audiobooks for on-the-go exploration—can reinvent the reading experience, making it both accessible and enjoyable for all.
