Intel CEO confirms Hyper-Threading will be back on CPU 🍋
Intel created another buzz in the PC industry when CEO Lip Boo Tan confirmed that the company was preparing to bring SMT or Hyper-Threading technology back to future generations of CPUs. After previously taking off in the Core Ultra 200 era, the announcement came amid a decline in revenue Q2 results and a lack of short-term growth prospects.

Hyper-Threading is the first Intel-based technology to be able to process two threads simultaneously, optimizing multi-threaded tasks, but since the 12th generation of CPUs, Intel has switched to a mixed architecture, large core (P-Core) and small core (E-Core), with SMT enabled in P-Core before cutting out all of Core Ultra 200.

This bring-back, despite being talked about in the context of the Data Center CPUs, with a similar architecture, makes it highly likely that Hyper-Threading will return to the desktop CPUs as well; however, this change won't be happening in Nova Lake or even the next release any time soon.

Although having Hyper-Threading is not always necessary for the average user, especially gaming, it is still a feature that many people would like to see attached to a CPU with on-off options on demand rather than not available at all.
