Windows 11 24H2 can't. Let's go to 25H2.

Microsoft has released Windows 11 version 25H2 (Build 26200.5074) for users on the Release Preview Channel to try to experience before the actual launch later this year. The point of interest is that this update doesn't focus on facelifting or adding new gimmicks like those seen in some versions, but focuses primarily on security.

It removes old features vulnerable to attacks like PowerShell 2.0 and WMIC, which have been declared defunct. Administrators can also choose to remove apps attached to machines on corporate or educational devices through Group Policy or MDM CSP.

What distinguishes the 25H2 update is the Enablement Package, or eKB, which is like a feature activation switch already hidden in Windows 11 24H2. When the user installs this package, the system will immediately open the embedded new feature without reinstalling it. Just restart it once.

This makes upgrades fast and almost downtime-free. It also uses the same code base and update process as 24H2, thus making the update more stable and smaller in file size than traditional big updates.

The update also affects the support cycle. The Enterprise and Education versions get 36 months of support, while the Pro version gets 24 months. This gives Microsoft better control over the release of new features.
