TSMC released an update on the progress of the newest production technology as A14 (1.4nm) at the North American Technology Seminar, saying that the development process is more beautiful than expected. Production results or yield performance are also better than scheduled.

Compared to the 2nm (N2) node now used, the A14 will run about 15% faster at the same power, or if it calibrates power consumption, it will save 30% on power. Even better, using the newer GAAFET transistors and the NanoFlex Pro architecture, it will be 20% more dense.

Although many companies are now attached to 3nm technology, TSMC has gone beyond many years, which, if it follows the A14 plan, will actually enter production in 2028, and of course brands like Apple, NVIDIA or AMD will be among the first to use it.
