Mouse bug editor patch. Keyboard is gone.
Microsoft released emergency updates KB5070773 and KB5070762 to fix bugs that made USB keyboards and mice inoperable on the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) page after installing update KB5066835, which was issued last October 14. This issue affects users of Windows 11 versions 25H2 and 24H2 who cannot use their mice or keyboards on the Recovery page at all.

The KB5070773 update is the main patch that solves the Windows system. The KB5070762 is a specific update for WinRE or the Safe OS Dynamic Update. Both are out-of-band updates that come out of schedule to solve specific problems quickly. It allows USB to resume normal use in recovery mode without compromising device operation in the main system.

Microsoft says both updates will be installed automatically through Windows Update, but users can go in and download and install them themselves from the Microsoft Update Catalog website as well.
