New Touch on Windows 11 🍋
Windows 11 is going to have an interesting new feature called Haptic Signals, which is a time-response vibrating system for activities on the Touchpad, such as snapping windows, arranging objects, or some movement in the user interface. This feature was discovered in Windows 11 Insider Build 26220.7070 that leaves users in the latest Dev and Beta channels. A user named Phantomofearth found and shared an image in X that has the option to turn off the vibration force and can adjust it.

Microsoft's idea is to let users feel a response. During Windows, similar to when using a MacBook's Touchpad or an iPhone with a Haptic Engine system, it vibrates gently at tap or click time, which allows them to know that they are actually clicking.

Activity is successful, such as dragging a window to the edge and snapping it, or moving an object in PowerPoint to the right place, the system will vibrate a little to say ok, making the use more vibrant and natural.

This feature should start testing notebooks with Haptic Trackpads, such as the Surface Laptop 7 and Surface Laptop Studio 2, which use solid-state trackpads. They don't have real buttons, but they use Apple's click-based vibrating motor. Despite the recent build menu, the feature is not yet operational and is still in Microsoft's trial stage, which is likely to be modified or discontinued in the future.
