Update the lost button...Windows 11 JB made icon password not shown
Windows 11 users are experiencing a new problem after the latest update when the Password login button on the Lock Screen is missing without a trace, confusing whether the feature has been removed. Most recently, Microsoft confirmed that it is only a display bug. The button remains but is invisible.
.
This problem is caused by Windows 11 versions 24H2 and 25H2 that have installed updates since August 2025. Specifically, the KB5064081 patch. Users who set up multiple login methods, such as PINs, finger scans, and passwords, will find that the password switch icon is missing. Normally, if there are multiple options, Windows must display the icon. But when a bug occurs, the password icon is made transparent.
.
Microsoft's recommended temporary solution is to point the mouse to the area where the button should be. Once Hover, the icon will pop up and can click to enter the password as usual.
.
Microsoft has not released a permanent fix patch and has not specified the time period to finish fixing it. It has previously been gradually solving bugs from the same month update, such as video problems with DRM jerk, unturned, unprogrammable because UAC bounced erratically, including problems in NDI software on Windows.
.
Anyone who has lost the password button, try to move the mouse to the original Sign-in options area. It will work normally while waiting for a patch from Microsoft.
