AMD is reportedly preparing to hike the price of the Ryzen 9000 Series CPUs, including all older models, with sources for the Overclock3D website stating that the new set price will take effect from tonight onwards local time. Despite not yet disclosing figures on how much will rise, AMD has already informed Partner directly.

The OC3D data also reiterated that this price hike had nothing to do with soaring DDR5 ram prices or rumors of Radeon screen card prices moving up in the future, which AMD itself did not give a clear reason for, but speculation was likely about rising wafer production costs and production processes.

The period is also considered to be a continuation of discount festivals like Black Friday and Cyber Monday, causing the price hike to now resemble resetting prices back to normal levels after promotions have been on sale throughout the year. The price hike will start at the level of the importer first. Some retailers may still sell their original stock at the old price until they pick up the new lot at an increased cost.
