According to Sumit Sadana, an executive at the company, the growth of AI forced Micron to discontinue the Crucial brand to increase supply efficiency and meet a higher growth market, despite the difficult decision.

According to the company's announcement, Crucial branded goods will continue to be available through stores and dealers until the end of February 2026, after which the Crucial brand will be completely shut down.
