Not only plug loopholes, but also add new features. ✨
After Microsoft released the update, Patch Tuesday gave Windows 11 KB5072033 and KB5071417 away, not only filling security holes, but also solving bugs and adding several new features.
.
The overview of this update is still similar to the KB5070311 patch released in the previous Preview, but this round focuses on the details that users complain about, especially the dark mode of File Explorer, which used to have a white flashing screen problem as soon as the window was opened, as if the camera was shot in the face, which was successfully edited in this patch.
.
One of the key highlights is the elevation of File Explorer to more complete Dark Mode support, from copy, move, delete windows to notifications boxes that are all black-themed, making the experience more continuous and unflinching, including a redesigned right-click menu, combining popular commands in one position, reducing clutter and finding menus easier.
.
On the hardware side, Microsoft improves Keyboard Backlight, makes it smarter, more visible in the dark, and saves energy. It also adds Mobile Devices pages in Settings to make it easier to manage mobile. It can be used as a camera or access mobile files from File Explorer.
.
The Quick Machine Recovery system is more accurate. It helps to detect problems and suggest solutions on a more direct basis. As well as moving several settings out of the Control Panel into the Settings, such as print repeat rates and cursor flashes, in keeping with the centralization direction of modern Windows.
.
The interface side has several customizations, whether it's an animation of the app group on Taskbar that slips up the eye, or a new ability to share the app's window directly from the icon on the taskbar. It makes it easier for Copilot to analyze and interact with screen content without opening a menu.
.
Widgets is also more flexible. Users can set up their own default dashboard, and the Widgets navigation bar displays the number of notifications of each page, allowing them to know new information immediately. The file sharing system has been overhauled with a new Drag Tray that supports dragging multiple files simultaneously, including OneDrive file sharing through other apps, more easily than ever.
Finally, Microsoft also optimizes graphics to solve high-resolution screen spasms, with the Windows Search to scale with the new Start Menu, making search and navigation more harmonious and modern.
