feeling lazy? unmotivated? ➡️ read thi

these are the 7 tactics i use to get motivated & get going on those days when i JUST don’t want to!! usually even just one of these will get me going 🫶

1️⃣ 5 MINUTE RULE

(the hardest part of a task is getting started)

1. set a timer for 5 minutes

2. work on the task you've put off

3. after 5 minutes, you can stop (if you want)

90% of the time, the momentum of starting is enough to keep you going.

2️⃣ LIMITS ON LEARNING TIME

(excessive learning becomes procrastination)

Growth: learn -> apply --> learn --> apply

Procrastination: learn --> learn --> learn --> learn

for each hour studying, spend an hour applying

3️⃣ ACTION LEADS TO MOTIVATION

many people think it goes like this:

motivation -> action

when in reality, it's more like this:

small action -> motivation -> more action

4️⃣ 2 MINUTE RULE

if something takes less than 2 minutes, do it now.

don’t let some mundane task gnaw at the back of your mind for weeks!

5️⃣ EAT THE FROG

do the hardest task of the day first

get that weight off

the rest of the day will seem easy in comparison!

6️⃣ REMOVE DIGITAL CLUTTER

being surrounded by digital distractions gives you more excuses to procrastinate

- phone in airplane mode/dnd

- utilize focus modes on phone

- open tabs are relevant to the current task

7️⃣ REMOVE PHYSICAL CLUTTER

a cluttered environment = cluttered mind

before you sit down to work, get your surroundings in order. this will allow you to laser focus on the task at hand!

i hope this helps!!

... Read moreOn days when motivation seems elusive, it can be challenging to get started on tasks. One effective approach is to utilize the 5-Minute Rule, which encourages you to set a timer for just five minutes and begin a task you've been avoiding. Surprisingly, once you start, you may find that momentum carries you forward beyond those initial minutes. Additionally, practicing the 2-Minute Rule can help deal with procrastination; if a task takes less than two minutes, tackle it immediately instead of letting it linger in your mind. This shift in focus from procrastination to productivity can greatly enhance your efficiency. Another key tactic is to prioritize and 'Eat the Frog' – a metaphor for tackling your most dreaded task first thing in the morning. This approach not only alleviates stress but also creates a sense of accomplishment, setting a productive tone for the rest of your day. Furthermore, maintaining a distraction-free environment can significantly boost your ability to concentrate. This includes minimizing digital clutter by silencing notifications and implementing focus modes on your devices. Doing so helps in maintaining clarity and reducing excuses for procrastination. By applying these methods, you can cultivate motivation and become more productive, even on the hardest days.

I love the idea of putting your phone on air plane mode and set your alarm for a certain amount of time to do the task. And to make sure I really don't get distracted. Ima put my phone up. Outa site outa mind. And don't grab it till you hear the alarm. 🔥
