DIY Sweet heart valentines 💕

These are the sweetest little cards and were super simple to make

Materials ✂️✍️

1) tiny craft paper cards from hobby lobby (white would look cute too!)

2) artxx acrylic paint markers (these worked great on the craft paper, regular white cards would work with a wider variety of markers)

3) white acrylic paint and a small round brush

4) felt tip Fabre Castle liner

✨The Process✨

• make your heart shape on the front of the card! You can sketch it out lightly in pencil first if you need to

• use your white paint to make a highlight along the left edges of the heart

• outline everything with pen

• write your message 🖋️

And you’re done! Share them with friends or make a cute little valentines garland just for you :) 💗

... Read moreI absolutely loved making these sweet heart cards, and they turned out so charming! If you're anything like me, once you start crafting for Valentine's Day, you just can't stop. These simple cards are a fantastic starting point, but why limit yourself? Let me share some more ideas to really make your Valentine's crafts shine, perfect for spreading love or decorating your space! First, let's talk about expanding on these 'heart craft' ideas. While the basic design is lovely, you can easily personalize them even further. For instance, instead of just a single pastel-colored heart, try layering different shades of craft paper to create a multi-dimensional effect, or use glitter glue along the white highlight for extra sparkle. I’ve found that using various shades of brown craft paper can give a really rustic yet sweet look. Don't be afraid to experiment with your acrylic paint markers! They're so versatile. You can add small polka dots, stripes, or even tiny floral patterns around your main heart design. And for the 'sweet message,' think beyond just "BE MINE." Consider writing short, heartfelt notes specific to the recipient or inside jokes. This makes each card truly unique and personal. If you're looking for more 'card idea' inspiration, think about different card shapes. While rectangular cards are classic, you could cut your brown craft paper into a heart shape itself, or even a scalloped edge. For a playful touch, I sometimes attach a small, handmade tassel or a tiny bell to the corner of the card. You can also vary the difficulty. If you want to try something a little more advanced than a flat card, but not a full '3D heart pop up card,' consider making a simple folded pop-out element. You can achieve this by cutting two parallel lines in the middle of your card, folding the strip forward, and then gluing a small paper heart onto it. It's an easy way to add a delightful surprise without needing complex templates! Now, let's turn these beautiful creations into 'heart decoration craft' pieces! The original article mentioned making a garland, and I can't recommend it enough. Simply punch a small hole at the top of each card and string them together with twine or a pretty ribbon. Imagine a string of these pastel-colored heart cards hanging across a window or a mantelpiece! You can also attach them to small wooden dowels and stick them into potted plants for a charming indoor garden display. Another fun idea is to make mini versions of these cards and use them as gift tags for Valentine's treats. For those thinking about 'valentines classroom decoration ideas,' these DIY heart cards are absolutely perfect. They're simple enough for kids (with a little supervision for the painting part) and require minimal materials. You could have each child decorate their own heart card, maybe with their name on it, and then string them all together to create a collaborative classroom garland. It's a wonderful way to involve everyone and make the classroom feel festive. You can also make larger versions of these hearts using construction paper and just paint the white highlight with a broad brush. These bigger hearts can be taped to classroom doors or windows. Remember, the key is keeping it fun and simple, and these "Valentine diy" projects certainly fit the bill!
