Sam Wilson didn’t just become Captain America in the MCU. He was chosen as the new Cap by Steve Rogers himself before ever picking up the shield on screen. Sam’s story has never shied away from the weight that comes with the mantle, and that makes his journey all the more impactful.

While several heroes have taken up the Captain America mantle, Sam’s tenure stands out, primarily because he doesn’t always relinquish the title when Steve Rogers returns.
