Reasons why I’m home schooling

Honestly, with the climate of current times, I have so many reasons why I am going to be homeschooling but here are some of my main reasons

🔴 sending your child off feels like sending them off to war. I don’t want to fear for the safety of my child every single day

🔴 attendance. I don’t want to be questioned if I don’t bring my child into school or be required to get a doctors note. We like to travel as a family and if she’s home schooled then the schooling comes with us.

🔴 bullying is happening everywhere now. I’m in a couple mom groups in my area and everyday there is a complaint about bullying going on and the schools not doing anything about it. I’d rather not deal with that at all.

🔴 low education levels. In the area that I am in, I am not satisfied with the education level at all. However, we don’t plan on moving anytime soon.

🔴catered curriculum. If she is struggling or excelling I am able to focus on that so if she’s behind, I can help specifically with areas that she needs improvement and if she’s excelling, I don’t have to wait to move onto something more.

I know that homeschooling is a privilege that most parents don’t have and I am very grateful to have the choice.

I also know there are concerns with socializing but there are home school groups in my area where parents and children meet at playgrounds to interact in a group setting. There are also sports that put my child in to socialize and get exercise.

For my there are just more pros to homeschool than cons.

... Read moreHomeschooling has become an increasingly popular choice for families seeking more control over their children's education and well-being. One significant factor driving this trend is the heightened concern for child safety in traditional school environments. Parents often describe the anxiety of sending their kids off to school as akin to sending them off to war, especially in light of recent societal challenges. Homeschooling eliminates this fear by keeping children in a secure, familiar environment. Another compelling reason is the flexibility homeschooling provides with attendance policies. Families who enjoy traveling or have unpredictable schedules appreciate that education can continue uninterrupted anywhere. Unlike traditional schools that require strict attendance and often necessitate doctor's notes, homeschooling adapts seamlessly to a family's lifestyle. Bullying remains a pervasive issue in many schools, and stories from local parent groups highlight how often school administrations fail to address these concerns effectively. Homeschooling offers a safe alternative by removing children from these hostile environments. Education quality is another major consideration. In areas where public schools have low academic standards, parents homeschooling their children can provide a higher-quality, personalized education tailored to their child's strengths and weaknesses. This customized curriculum allows students to progress at their own pace, ensuring those who struggle receive additional help, while those excelling can move ahead without delay. Concerns about socialization are commonly raised, but homeschooling communities often organize regular meetups, playdates, and group activities. Additionally, extracurricular activities like sports provide valuable social interaction and physical fitness opportunities. Overall, homeschooling offers a blend of safety, flexibility, educational quality, and community engagement that many parents find preferable. While it is a privilege not all families can pursue, for those who can, it presents numerous benefits that outweigh the potential drawbacks.
