... Read moreOkay, you guys have to see my latest Baldur's Gate 3 creation! I spent ages in the character creator, and I'm absolutely smitten with my new Tav, Dahlia. She's a Cleric of Mystra, and I honestly think she's one of the most beautiful characters I've ever designed in BG3. I wanted someone who truly looked like a divine spellcaster, but with a unique, ethereal flair that captured the essence of magic itself.
Choosing the Cleric class was a no-brainer for me. I love the balance of support and damage, and the lore behind the gods in Faerûn is just so rich. But when it came to picking a deity, Mystra, the Goddess of Magic, just felt right. Not only does she embody the arcane power that I find so fascinating, but the idea of a Cleric dedicated to her, rather than a traditional wizard, offers such cool role-playing opportunities. Plus, who doesn't want to channel the very essence of magic in their spells? Her domain spells are so versatile and really make a difference in combat, whether I'm healing my party or smiting enemies with divine power. Playing a Cleric of Mystra feels incredibly empowering and distinct.
Now, let's talk about Dahlia's look! I really wanted her to stand out. From the initial 'Edit Character' screen in the Baldur's Gate 3 character creation interface, my goal was a mesmerizing aesthetic. The first thing I focused on was her hair – I went with this stunning long pink hair that just flows beautifully. I paired it with delicate pointed ears, giving her an elven or half-elven heritage, which complements her magical calling. For her face, I spent a lot of time on the details. The pink makeup, especially the eyeshadow, ties in perfectly with her hair and divine aura. And of course, the subtle nose ring adds a touch of individuality. I layered several necklaces over her pink garment to give her an air of elegance and devotion. Seeing her close-up on the character creation interface, I knew I had something special. Every detail, from her facial features to her outfit, was chosen to reflect her devotion to Mystra while still being incredibly 'me.' It felt like I was creating a true beauty domain cleric, even if that's not an official subclass!
If you're struggling to create a beautiful BG3 character or a Tav that truly feels like *yours*, my biggest tip is to experiment! Don't be afraid to try unconventional colors or features. Sometimes the most striking characters come from unexpected combinations. Think about their class, their deity, and their backstory, and let that guide your aesthetic choices. For example, a Cleric of Mystra might lean into colors associated with magic or stars, or have a serene, wise expression. Take your time on the character creation screen; don't rush through the 'Edit Character' and 'Proceed' options. Playing around with sliders and different options can lead to unexpected and gorgeous results. Focus on the small details – a unique eye color, a distinct tattoo, or even a specific facial piercing can make all the difference.
I'm so excited to dive into Faerûn with Dahlia and see what adventures await. I'm especially looking forward to how her devotion to Mystra plays out in different quests and dialogues.
