HOW TO GET TONED BEFORE SUMMER 🍋

Summer’s just around the corner!! This is my guide to getting toned - FAST!!

• Calorie deficit - if you’re looking to lose weight before summer hits, it’s essential you are burning more active calories than the calories you are intaking in a day! You can calculate this specific number based on your daily activity, weight, etc. using an online calculator!

• Add cardio - for my girlies who prefer strength training: TRY your best to add at least 15 min of cardio (walking, running, stair master, ANYTHING) at the end of every workout. This was a game changer for me!

• DRINK WATER - if you think you’re drinking enough water, odds are you aren’t!! I HIGHLY recommend you start tracking your water intake each day and hit at least 40-50 fl oz a day!

• Train 3-4 times a week - CONSISTENCY IS KEY 🔑 Whether you’re just starting out or trying to change up your routine the first step is SHOWING UP!!

• SLEEP - you have no idea how much getting a well-rested night of sleep not only impacts your mood and energy level, but it impacts your ENTIRE life!! let your body rest!!

Honestly, getting a truly toned body, like the kind you see in those inspiring 'before and after' pictures, isn't an overnight thing, but you can see significant changes pretty quickly if you're consistent. For me, I started noticing differences in about 4-6 weeks when I really committed to my routine. Full body transformation takes longer, perhaps 2-3 months to really feel and see a huge shift, but the key is to celebrate those small wins along the way. Your starting point, genetics, and how dedicated you are to both diet and exercise will all play a role. Don't get discouraged if it's not happening as fast as you'd like; consistency truly is your best friend here. Let's talk more about that calorie deficit. It sounds daunting, but it's really about making smarter choices. Instead of drastic cuts, I found success by focusing on nutrient-dense foods that kept me full. Think lean proteins, lots of veggies, and healthy fats. Using an online calculator is a great starting point, but then listen to your body. Adjust slightly based on your energy levels and how you're feeling. For example, I swapped my usual afternoon snack for a protein shake, and that made a huge difference in my daily intake without feeling deprived. It's about finding what works for you to create that sustainable energy gap. And when it comes to workouts, combining cardio with strength training was a game-changer, just like I mentioned before. While cardio helps burn those active calories, strength training is what truly sculpts your body and gives you that 'toned' look. Don't be afraid to lift weights!
