This was so cute
Run-away Love by Melanie Harlow
My review
⭐⭐⭐
She walked out in her wedding dress and into a town that didn’t know her name — and that single act makes this small-town romance impossible to ignore. Veronica leaves Neil at the altar after a damning text meant for a mistress, shows up penniless and determined, and applies for the nanny job Austin is desperately trying to fill. The setup asks a sharp question: would you hire a stranger who arrives in bridal white? Austin can’t quite say no, and the resulting clash between duty, grief, and attraction drives a story about resilience more than romance alone.
What I loved most was how the book treats griet and family with quiet honesty. Veronica isn’t plotted as a perfect heroine; she’s stubborn, real, and rebuilding herself by choice. The town’s curiosity and kindness feel earned, and the way small-town rhythms press on everyday life gives the story a warm, lived-in center. If you’re drawn to strong female protagonists, second chances, and emotionally grounded small-town settings, this one belongs on your reading list.
