Who knew making your own oat milk was so easy 🥛✨🤍
With the price of groceries lately, and never really knowing what’s truly in the things you buy, I’ve been trying to get a litttttle more into my homemaking skills.
It’s SO QUICK & EASY!! And does it taste exactly like a boxed bottle of oat milk? No. But it’s pretty darn close and I haven’t needed to buy milk since!
Getting right into it…
Ingredients 🥛
💧2 1/2 to 3 cups cold water (colder the better to prevent sliminess!)
✨ 1/2-3/4 cup oats (the more oats, the creamier the milk!)
Supplies: Cheese cloth, funnel, blender (I use a hand blender here but any will work!), container to pour the milk into (I invested in a cute little glass milk jug, and it’s been well worth the money I would’ve spent on store bought milk!)
1. Pour oats into blender, and add cold water. You can absolutely add more oats in for a creamier/thicker taste.
2. Blend 30s
3. Pour over cheese cloth to separate liquid from the oat bits.
4. Repeat process until you’ve filled your desired container!
It will last about 1 week-1 week and a half and I don’t push it past that, but without those grocery store labels a simple smell test should keep you informed if it’s fresh or not 😉
I really hope you enjoy this recipe, and that it’s helpful in eating healthier while saving some money on groceries!
