We heard New Haven Pizza is the best in the US so drove to Connecticut mom and dad to review. First, we went to the OG of New Haven Pizza, @frankpepepizza. Then, in Part 2, we try Modern Apizza which is apparently the local’s favorite. Considering mom and dad normally don’t even like tomato sauce pizza at all, this is saying a lot about their original tomato pie.
Frank Pepe’s were founded in 1925 by Frank Pepe. They say this is the spot for the OG New Haven style “apizza”. The signature coal-fired, thin-crust pies are famous for a charred, crispy, and chewy texture, particularly the iconic White Clam Pie, which is often ranked among the best in the United States.
