What small win are you proud of? 🤗💛

A small win I accomplished that I’m so proud of to this day happened one summer when I hiked on a moderately difficult trail on a mountain called Tiger Mountain. The trail is 7.2 miles round trip. This trail was not flat, but it was uphill, a very steep climb and rocky terrain. Although I had a bad hip due to arthritis I was determined to reach this goal and go to the top where you could see people people suited up and ready to jump off the top of the mountain to paraglide in the blue sky.

Once I reached the top I was so proud of myself! 😃👏🏼Even though my hip was in pain I still leaped for joy in the air because I accomplished this small win despite the excruciating pain. After accomplishing this goal I felt like I could do anything!

Success in life is a series of small victories. Sometimes it may cause us some discomfort or pain to reach our goals. But don’t give up! Also your wins should not be compared to anybody’s else wins. This is your journey and what you accomplish is for your personal growth.

Maybe your small win is you decided to put your phone down and give your child, spouse, or a friend undivided attention this time while they talked you because you know what they need is more important than what is on that device. Maybe your small win is you battle depression, and it’s been so difficult to even get out of bed, to shower, or eat a meal. However, today you made sure to get out of bed, shower, and get the nourishment you needed. Maybe you have a bad habit that you know you must break, and it’s been so hard because sometimes it takes mastery over you. However, today you made up in your mind that you are stronger than the bad habit and you fight through it and not succumb to it. These are accomplishments worth celebrating! 😃🤗💛🙌🏼👏🏼

You are capable of more than you know. Choose goals that will work for you and work towards accomplishing that goal. You will be so proud of yourself when you reach those goals you set for yourself. ALWAYS speak life and light into yourself too. Words have power and can either tear you down or uplift you. Talk to yourself as if you already accomplished your goals.

Remember that small change adds up so NEVER forget to celebrate your small wins. Those are usually the big ones. 🤗💛

... Read moreYou know, sometimes we get so caught up chasing big goals that we completely overlook the incredible power of our 'small wins.' I used to be guilty of this myself, always thinking, "Okay, what's next?" But learning to pause and really celebrate those little victories has been a game-changer for my mindset and overall happiness. It’s like gathering tiny sparks that eventually light up a huge bonfire of self-belief. Why do these small wins add up? Think of it as building a muscle. Every time you consciously acknowledge an achievement, no matter how minor, you're strengthening your self-efficacy and resilience. It's not just about reaching the summit of a mountain, as I did, but also about the daily decision to put on your hiking boots, or even just getting out the door for a walk when you'd rather stay in bed. These micro-successes create momentum, pushing you forward when motivation wanes. I've found it incredibly helpful to have a 'win journal' where I jot down at least three small things I accomplished each day. It could be anything from finally tackling that overflowing laundry basket to having a difficult but necessary conversation, or even just sticking to my morning routine. Re-reading these entries later, especially on tough days, reminds me of my capabilities and how far I've come. It gives me that feeling of joyfully leaping mentally, even if I'm just sitting at my desk. Beyond journaling, how else can we truly celebrate? It doesn't have to be a party. Maybe it's treating yourself to a favorite coffee, taking a moment to sit quietly and appreciate your effort, or sharing your success with a trusted friend. The key is to make it a conscious act of recognition. For me, after a particularly challenging task, I love to take a break and step outside, looking up at the cloudy sky or appreciating the vast forest landscape nearby, just to breathe and let that feeling of accomplishment sink in. It’s a moment of gratitude for the effort I put in. The importance of celebrating small wins really comes down to conditioning our brains for success. When we acknowledge them, we reinforce positive behaviors and tell ourselves, "Hey, I can do this!" This mental boost is vital for our mental well-being and prevents burnout. It teaches us to be proud of our achievements, not just the monumental ones, but the consistent, everyday efforts that shape our lives. So, next time you conquer a tiny challenge, don't just brush it off. Take a moment, pat yourself on the back, and let that energy propel you towards your next goal. Those little moments of triumph are the bedrock of lasting personal growth.
