Don’t make this mistake on maternity leave

I’ll never forget those early days…baby in one arm, phone in the other, staring at my bank balance and wondering how we’d make it stretch.

Life slows down when you have a newborn… but the bills don’t.

Statutory maternity pay is just £184 a week and somehow that has to cover food, heating, nappies, and everything in between, all while you’re recovering from birth and awake every 2 hours with a tiny human.

The reality? A baby costs £500+ a month in their first year over £6,000 before they’ve even had their first birthday 🎈

It’s no surprise so many mums feel forced back to work before they’re ready, even if it breaks their heart 💔

Looking back, I wish I’d found a way to build something for myself sooner.

But a business that fitted into nap times, evenings, and everyday life, without pressure, stock, or chasing people.

That’s what digital products gave me: freedom, confidence, and the chance to earn without missing those precious moments.
