Replying to @Kee The Performer I just scrolled upon these videos in my camera roll and it’s too cute to not share 🤭
For those that don’t know, I’ve avoided direct heat for over a decade, opting for styles that had less risk of damaging my hair. No one knew that I was going to let the @CÉCRED team get ahold of my hair and do what I refused to let anyone else do for YEARS. The fact that several people thought it was a wig at first shows how adamant I am about no heat 😂
The main question I’ve been getting since the straight hair debut: Will you do it again?
The answer? I’m open to it, but not often and ONLY using Cécred products.
I do want to do a dramatic blow out with the volumizing mousse. Maybe in the fall when I don’t start sweating the second I walk outside 😅
Hair by @HAIRISTA using the Cécred styling line and it lasted 3 weeks in Georgia heat ❤️🔥. The rain caught me slipping on the last day 😮💨

For years, I avoided using direct heat on my hair to prevent damage and maintain natural health. It was a personal commitment because heat styling often leads to breakage, dryness, and loss of curl definition, which can be frustrating for natural hair enthusiasts like me. When I finally allowed the Cécred team to work their magic with heat, it felt like a huge milestone. The silk press was not only beautifully done but also surprisingly long-lasting. Despite living in the humid climate of Georgia, my sleek, straight hair endured for three whole weeks before the rain caused it to lose some of its smoothness. The secret, I’ve come to realize, is the quality of the products used. Cécred’s styling line, including their volumizing mousse, offers protection and nourishment that help withstand elements like sweat and moisture. If you’ve been hesitant to try heat styling because of damage concerns, I’d recommend exploring high-quality product lines designed to protect natural hair. Using heat doesn't have to mean sacrificing hair health if you use the right conditioners, heat protectants, and styling aids. I’m now considering occasional dramatic blowouts especially in cooler months when sweat won’t ruin the style immediately. This experience changed my perspective on heat styling—it's possible to embrace new looks without compromising hair integrity if done mindfully. For those curious, the silk press technique can give you the versatility of straight hair while maintaining a healthy foundation with proper care. Just remember to limit heat exposure and trust products that focus on hydration and repair. To anyone balancing natural hair care and wanting to experiment with different styles, finding trusted hairstylists and product lines like Cécred can make all the difference. It’s about striking a balance between style and health that fits your lifestyle and hair goals.
